
Vasili Chkhaidze
Vasily Chkhaidze was born in the village of Atsana, Ozurgeti district, Kutaisi province, Russian Empire. Honored Artist of the Georgian SSR (1979). Graduated from the German department of the philological faculty of Tbilisi State University (1936). In 1927-1934 he was an actor at the Batumi Theater, then at the Georgian State Theater, in 1937-1956 he was a teacher of Russian and German at school, in 1956-1962 he was an actor at the Poti Drama Theater named after V. Gunia, since 1967 - at the film studio "Gruzia-Film" (first major role - Pipinia in the film "Extraordinary Exhibition").
