Günter Pfitzmann
Günter Pfitzmann (April 8, 1924, Berlin – May 30, 2003, Berlin) was a German actor, voice actor, and cabaret performer. He was best known for portraying characters with the distinctive Berlin blend of warmth and blunt humor, and gained widespread popularity through leading roles in television series such as Drei Damen vom Grill, Praxis Bülowbogen, and Der Havelkaiser. His film work included notable titles like Die Brücke (1959) and the Edgar Wallace thriller Der Zinker (1963). In addition to stage, film, and television, Pfitzmann was a prolific dubbing artist, voicing actors such as Kirk Douglas, Jean Gabin, and Lloyd Bridges, and providing the German voice of Obelix in Asterix the Gaul. He remained active well into his later years and was one of Berlin’s most recognizable television personalities until his death in 2003.
